Let's talk about how I found this blog. Last week, one evening, I came across a video by a blogger on the homepage of Bilibili. She talked about her experience learning web3, and I watched some of her other vlogs. The work and lifestyle she portrayed were what I have always aspired to. In one of her videos, she mentioned this blog, so I decided to come and check it out. It's a coincidence because my server and domain name just expired.
Why do I say it's about following my heart? Let me talk about myself.
After graduating, I joined a company where I mainly worked with Rust. I chose Rust because I thought it would give me opportunities to work in blockchain companies in the future. Before the National Day holiday, I talked to my leader about it. I didn't have much motivation to deal with various tasks every day, and a few companies contacted me, hoping that I could use my background in Rust to work in the blockchain field. Coincidentally, I also wanted to do that. However, facing the unknown field and leaving my comfort zone, it was difficult to take that step.
But since I didn't want to continue with my current job, why should I make it difficult for myself? So I talked to my leader and decided to resign. I don't know if I will be able to interview with good web3 companies in the future, and the job market in China is also very tough. But I still want to give it a try, just in case it turns out to be better.
Recently, I've been reading "A Dream of Red Mansions," and there's a quote in it:
To do nothing is to make life too long; to want to do something is to make life too short.
I want to share this quote with everyone, including myself, and encourage everyone to do what they love.
